Achonry National School abides to the standard curriculum as agreed by the Department of Education and Skills. Subjects taught across the classes are:

SWIMMING
We are also fortunate to be able to arrange a swimming class programme for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Class.
The classes are run over a period of 8 weeks (one 8 week session per year) and each lesson lasts for 30 minutes. The classes are run at Sligo Sports Centre who have provided us with a quality class for a number of years and the children really thrive from the experience. Transport is arranged by the school.
All abilities are catered for and each child will be assessed at the start of the programme to decide which level they are best suited to.
